Loyalist Landing ~ May 1783

Laoyalist Landing by Adam Sherriff Scott

Leonard Slipp and Elizabeth Ryson were among the first Loyalist settlers to arrive by first ship from New York in the Spring of 1783. The scene was captured by Adam Sherriff Scott in this painting of the Loyalists arriving onshore at the mouth of the Saint John River.

I searching for information about my 3rd great grand father John McLeod B=?Scotland?-d=1821 Ludlow,NB,Canada-m=Susannah Hovey daughter of Aaron Hovey. John was granted land in NB for his service to the crown during the Rev War fighting with the 42nd Regiment of Foot/Black Watch.
I’m looking for any information that could trail John McLeod back tio Scotland and find out what his parents names were etc.
